Suumer is a free event listing. It shows no ads and uses no ad trackers. It does not sell personal data, and it does not share personal data for advertising.

No account required

You can use Suumer without an account. This browser saves your starting town, hidden events, highlights, and “I'm going” plans under the name suumer-lasting-choices-v1. Team plans and trophies are saved in this browser too. Night notes you save only on this device stay on this device.

Your starting town is sent with a search when you open events, so the list can start near it. We do not store that town on an account.

Opening an event's outside link, highlighting a listing, or tapping “I'm going” sends that event's id so we can count it. The count is not tied to a name or an account. To slow fake counts, an address is held in memory for a short time and is not saved.

Hidden events and trophies are not sent. “Tell me when” alerts are not on. Interests you pick for them stay in this browser.

If you are signed in and you follow a venue or keep a calendar link, an “I'm going” event id is saved on your account so a calendar app can follow it. After an event you marked “I'm going”, this browser sends that event's id to see whether a question is due. A yes or no is saved only if you are signed in.

A listing report stores what you say is wrong, and an email only if you type one. Signed in, it also stores your account id. We use the report to review the listing. An event you submit stores the details you typed, and an email only if you ask us to write back.

If you make an account

Your email address is stored with the account and used to send the sign-in link. The link expires in 20 minutes and works once. Resend, the service that sends the link, receives the address for that purpose.

We also store, with the account, your star ratings, nights out you save there (including a private note), venue claims, and calendar subscriptions (venues you follow and event ids you include). A question you ask about an event is stored with the account too. Other signed-in people can see a combined star score, not your email.

We keep the account, and what is tied to it, until you delete it. A signed-in session lasts 30 days.

Visit counting

The site counts visits with no cookies and no name. This browser remembers the first week you visited and the last week it already sent a note, and it sends one note a week. The server adds that note to a daily total. It does not save an IP address or a device id. An address is held in memory only long enough to ignore a burst of notes, and it is not written down.

Cloudflare Web Analytics also counts page views, without cookies. Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Location

The website asks for your location only when you tap “Use my location”. The browser rounds it to about a kilometer and sends it for that search. We do not save it on an account. A request log can still include that search, as described below.

Server logs

A request log records the method, the page address including the query string, and the site host. It does not record an IP address. Secret sign-in, calendar, and venue-action links are removed from those addresses. On the events API, a latitude and longitude in the query string are rounded before they are logged. A search place can appear in the query string.

If an “I'm going” count looks like it came from a different country than the event, a warning log includes the IP address and the event id.

Logs are kept only as long as needed to run and protect the site.

Children

Suumer is meant for adults. Some listings are at bars.

Your choices

You can delete your account. For anything else, including removal of a listing, email [email protected].
